Sony Ericsson’s S700i mobile phone is a very clever handy. At first look you’ll expect a clamshell opening, but not, cell phone S700i is opening in rotation form (see the picture below):
A similar mechanism is used at Motorola V80 handy too. Only after rotating the top part of the cell phone will you see the keypad. It is good, because a very large display (240 x 320 pixels) won’t fit on a mobile phone like that and of course it’s good for protecting the keypad too. The cellular phone looks very stylish with this feature and easy to use. Also some games are playable on a 90 degrees rotation. The 4 way navigation buttons on the handy are perfectly designed, so they won’t make any problem. Using these buttons you can access the mobile phone menu, also you can make and receive calls.
On the other side of the cellular phone you’ll find a camera. But not a regular small resolution camera as on usual mobile phone, a nice 1.3 megapixel camera! This is the first handy from Sony Ericsson with a camera like this, and it comes with a built-in flashlight, picture effects, and 8x dig. zoom!
Let’s talk about the cell phones screen. It is a TFT display with 262k colors and a big resolution (240×320 pixels). Currently this is the largest available screen on any mobile phone in the market. It’s perfect for the camera, because the colors are rendered vividly, but not only for that, it makes writing SMS&MMS messages a lot easier, not talking about playing Java games. Excellent display for an excellent handy. Every cell phone should have a display like that.
Another multimedia features such as FM radio, MP3 player or ringtone composer can be found in the mobile phone. You can store these things on the built in memory (32Mbytes), plus on external memory cards (the mobile phone comes with a 32Mbyte Memory Stick Duo card upgradeable up to 128Mbytes). Also communication with other cell phones is very good - the mobile phone supports Bluetooth, infrared and cable. The Bluetooth can be used for wireless connection to car kits, headsets and other devices.
