Mobile Phone companies planning faster 3G - Cell Phone News
Two big cell phone carriers are trying to speed up the current 3G technology. These two mobile phone companies are NTT DoCoMo Inc. and KDDI Corporation.
KDDI Corp. began discussions with more then 25 partners on a new better 3G, called Ultra 3G. The DoCoMo has joined with 25 companies to bring out the Super 3G.
The companies want to extend the mobile phone data transfer speed up to 100mbit per seconds, which will allow transmission of TV quality pictures over cell phones. They are planning to speed up 10 times the 3G network. They want to commercialize the new standard in the next five years.
They want to hit the Japanese mobile phone market, where 36.80 million subscribers (3G) are already, and this number is growing every day.
